About Us: L’avocat – The Literary Society, established in 2007, is the official literary society of our college. It serves as a platform for students to explore literature beyond academics through debating, creative writing, public speaking, editing, and publishing. The Society strives to cultivate critical thinking, creativity, and effective communication while fostering a community of students who share a passion for literature and intellectual discourse.
Our Publication: One of the Society’s major initiatives in 2025-26 was the transformation of its existing publication into a bi-monthly multilingual literary magazine, featuring contributions in English, Hindi, Marathi, and Gujarati. We also introduced a new section, “About Books,” dedicated to celebrating noteworthy books, literary awards, authors, classics, and contemporary reading trends, thereby broadening the magazine’s literary scope and encouraging greater engagement with the world of books.
Our Events: L’avocat organises a diverse range of literary events throughout the year, including the Fresher’s Meet, Intra-College Debate Competition, book-centric events, and other literary initiatives. The Society also encourages and facilitates student participation in prestigious national literary and debating competitions, providing members with opportunities to develop their skills and represent the college at various academic and literary platforms.
