FACULTY ACHIEVEMENT FOR THE A.Y. 2014-2015.

 

DR. (MRS) NUTAN P. MADIWAL, VICE-PRINCIPAL:

Dr. [Mrs.] Nutan Madiwal, Dr. Ms. Navasikha Duara and Dr. [Mrs.] Geeta Kubsad, Assistant Professors are attending the Refresher Course in Gender Studies (Interdisciplinary)  organised by UGC Academic Staff College, University of Mumbai from 17th November, 2014 to 6th December, 2014 at Mumbai.

DR.[MS.] NAVASIKHA DUARA, ASSISTANT PROFESSOR:

Dr. Ms. Navasikha Duara, Assistatnt Professor, presented a paper on ‘Security under Threat – Post US Afghanistan, 2014’ at the three-day National Seminar on “American withdrawal from Afganistan in December 2014: Post –Withdrawal Puzzle of Policy options for India, Pakistan and Afghanistan” held at VPM’s CIS on 29th – 31st July, 2014.

MS. SUMAN KALANI, ASSISTANT PROFESSOR:

Ms. Suman Kalani, Assistant Professor, presented a paper on ‘Transition to ODR – Mechanism to curb Transition Cost’ at the International Conference on Law and Economics 2015, jointly organised by Gujarat National Law University Gandhinagar, Indian Institute of Management  Ahmedabad and Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur on 14-15th March, 2015.

Ms. Suman Kalani, Assistant Professor, was invited to take a session on Intellectual Property Law at one day workshop on ‘Business Law’ for teachers organized by Narsee Moonjee College of Commerce and Economics on 5th February, 2015.

Ms. Suman Kalani, Mrs. Kavita Sharma and Dr.[Mrs.] Geeta Kubsad, Assistant Professors, participated in the National Consultation on ‘Re-Visiting Judicial Appointments Commission – (NJAC)’ organised by Department of Law, University of Mumbai in collaboration with Global Vision India Foundation on 31st January, 2015 at Mumbai.

Ms. Suman Kalani presented a paper on “Utopia or Dystopia: Changing Face of Indian Democratic Politics through Intuitional Internalization” at the annual conference on Globalization, Critique and Social Theory: Navigating the divide between Theory and Practice organised by the International Social Theory Consortium and Inaugural Conference of the Committee on Social Theory, University of Tennessee (U.S.A.) on 15th -17th May, 2014.

MS. KAVITA SHARMA, ASSISTANT PROFESSOR:

Mrs. Kavita Sharma, Assistant Professor, presented a paper on ‘Legal Education: Effective Role of Information and Communication’ at one day National Symposium on Law and Social Sciences’ organised by Department of Business Law and Department of Business Communication of Vivek College of Commerce on 27th March, 2015 at Mumbai.

Mrs. Kavita Sharma, Assistant Professor, presented a paper on ‘Invoking Social Responsibility Amongst the Students of Law’ at International Conference of Jurists and Writers – 2015  organised by International Council of Jurists, International Commission of Writers, Department of Law, University of Mumbai, All India Bar Association, Indian Council of Jurists on 29th March, 2015 at Mumbai.

Mrs. Kavita Sharma and Mrs. Gazala Shaikh, Assistant Professors, attended 3 day National Level Research Methodology Workshop on “Emerging Trends in Research” organized by Matushri Kanbai Lalbai & Motibai Lohana Kanyashala & Balikagruh’s B.L.Amlani College of Commerce & Economics, M. R. Nathwani College of Arts from 4th February to 6th February, 2015 at Mumbai.

Mrs. Kavita Sharma, Assistant Professor, was invited to deliver a lecture on “Human Right of Children” at Zonal Institute of Educational Training, Navy Base, Kanjurmarg, Mumbai on 17th September, 2014.

Mrs. Kavita Sharma, Assistant Professor, had submitted a paper on the topic ‘State Sovereignty in the Era of Globalization’ which was published in compilation of  University of Mumbai, National Conference on ‘Changing Trends and Sustainable Management Practices: Developments and Dimensions in the Area of Commerce.

DR.[MRS.] GEETA KUBSAD, ASSISTANT PROFESSOR:

Mrs. [Dr.] Geeta Kubsad, Assistant Professor has completed the Post Graduation Diploma in Medical Law and Ethics of National Law School of India University Distance Education Department.

Mrs. [Dr.] Geeta Kubsad, Assistant Professor’s article on Increasing Crimes and the law self Defence and Proportionality was published in Quest – A Peer Reviewed Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities in August 2014.

Dr. [Mrs.] Geeta Kubsad, Assistant Professor, Submitted a paper on ‘Social Inclusion, Gap in Education’ at the International Conference on ‘Inclusive Growth: Opportunities and Challenges’ organised by  Maniben Nanavati Womens College, Mumbai  on 12th August, 2014.

Dr. [Mrs.] Geeta Kubsad, Assistant Professor, Submitted a paper on ‘Social Innovation and Maternity - A perspective’ at the International Conference on ‘Opportunities and Challenges for Women Entrepreneurship in India organised by  Gandhi Shikshan Bhavans Shrimati Surajba College of Education, Mumbai  on 23rd August, 2014.

MRS. VIOLET MIRANDA, ASSISTANT PROFESSOR:

Mrs. Violet Miranda, Assistant Professors, attended symposium titled ‘Translating Cultures’ organized by Department of English, University of Mumbai on 20th March, 2015 at Mumbai.

Mrs. Violet Miranda, Assistant Professor, Submitted a paper on ‘Revisioning History in Salman Rushdie’s Midnight’s Children’ at the International Conference on ‘Recent Trends in Postcolonial Writings’ organised by Department of English, Chandmal Tarachand Bora College, Pune on 27th January, 2015.

MRS. ANJU SINGH, ASSISTANT PROFESSOR:

Mrs. Anju Singh, Assistant Professor, won Consolation Prize in ‘Dharam S. Hinduja All India Essay Writing Competition for Lecturers’ 2014-2015 organised by K.P.B. Hinduja College of Commerce, Mumbai.
